Our Founders

  • Lucas Callahan is a passionate music educator and composer based in Ipswich, MA. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Lucas brings a wealth of musical knowledge and experience to his teaching endeavors. He is dedicated to spreading the joy of music with a strong emphasis on community building. With a background in teaching band, orchestra, and chorus, Lucas offers private lessons and ensemble instruction to students of all levels.

    In addition to his work in education, Lucas finds fulfillment in composing music for video games and arranging pieces for diverse ensembles. His arrangements aim to create immersive musical experiences that resonate with audiences and foster a sense of community through music.

    Driven by a commitment to nurturing a love for music and building connections within the community, Lucas provides guidance and support to help individuals explore their musical talents and form meaningful musical connections.

  • Frank Corbin was appointed Organist and Choirmaster of Ascension Memorial Church, Ipswich, MA in March of 2011. Prior to coming to Ipswich, he was Director of Music Ministry at Assumption College for 21 years, where he taught piano, music theory, and organ, oversaw the college’s liturgical music program, and served as director of Humanarts, the college’s series of concerts, exhibitions, art history lectures, and literary readings.

    Frank completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Performer’s Certificate at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He holds additional degrees from Oberlin College (B. Mus.), University of Cincinnati (M. Mus.), and Concordia University, Montréal (Diploma in Advanced Performance Studies). He has studied organ with Russell Saunders, William Porter, Roberta Gary, and Bernard Lagacé, and piano with Sedmara Rutstein and Robert Shannon. A native of Springfield, Tennessee, he attended the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University during high school, where he studied organ with Peter Fyfe and piano with Enid Katahn.

    He has been a top-prize winner in several national and international contests, including the American Guild of Organists Young Artists Competition, the Arthur Poister Competition, and the organ competition at the Festival of Flanders in Bruges, Belgium. His recording of works of César Franck, including The Three Chorals, appears on the Centaur label. He is also heard on the recording, Great Organs of Worcester, a 2-CD recording project he spearheaded featuring sixteen historic pipe organs in the city of Worcester.

    An accomplished pianist as well as organist, Dr. Corbin includes works for piano and other instruments in addition to traditional organ repertoire for the services at Ascension Memorial Church. As an educator conversant with numerous teaching methods, he is adept at working with students and singers of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of skill.
